Farmer Governor Bago Brings Light to Schools and Primary Healthcare Centers in the New Niger

Under the purposeful leadership of Farmer Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago, the New Niger Agenda is bringing real development to where it matters most in our schools and in our Primary Healthcare Centers.

Niger State is rolling out a major power project in partnership with ECOWAS and ROGEAP that will bring clean and reliable electricity to public institutions across the state. Our government has paid its part and work is already moving. Deployment will run from now through September 2026 and it is being coordinated with the Rural Electrification Agency to ensure quality and timely delivery.

This is about improving the lives of our people.

Seventeen Primary Healthcare Centers across every part of Niger State will now have power to run essential equipment, support emergency care and give our mothers and children better service. From Suleja to Gurara, from Shiroro to Munya, from Lapai to Agaie, from Katcha to Bida, from Edati to Mokwa, from Wushishi to Rafi, from Mariga to Kontagora and Rijau, light is coming to strengthen health care in your community.

Six boarding schools will also be connected. Students at Government Girls Science College Bida, Government Science College Suleja, Maryam Babangida Girls Science College Minna, Muhammad Kobo Secondary School Lapai, College of Art and Islamic Legal Studies Kontagora and Government Girls Science Unity College Kontagora will now study longer, learn with technology and have a better environment to excel.

Honourable Commissioner Suleiman Umar assures all Nigerlites that this project is a direct answer to a long time challenge. Even as Niger State hosts Kainji, Shiroro, Zungeru and Jebba dams, Farmer Governor Bago believes no community should be left in darkness while we build a greater state. That is why the New Niger Agenda is focused on practical solutions that reach every local government.

This achievement adds to what we have already started. Our government has worked to expand solar solutions across the state, connecting thousands of households and advancing a major solar electrification project to bring more power to our people.

This is what purposeful leadership looks like. This is a promise made and a promise kept.

This is progress you can see. This is progress you can feel.
