Commissioner Suleiman Umar Leads Stakeholders Into Compensation Process For Landmark IsDB Project In Makunkele
The IsDB Energy Grid Initiative under the Farmer Governor Umaru Bago administration will be situated in Makunkele District, Bosso Local Government Area of Niger State. The project is described as the biggest renewable energy project of its kind in Nigeria right now. The Federal Executive Council, FEC, has approved funding from the Islamic Development Bank, IsDB, while Niger State has also provided its counterpart funding. The renewable energy project will sit on 500 hectares of land and has the capacity to generate 100MW of power. Beyond power generation, the energy farm will also include a School, a Healthcare Center, and provisions to supply affordable clean energy to institutions, homes, and for agricultural mechanization, as well as other resources to support future development.
