Farmer Governor Bago is Powering the New Niger: Jobs, Food, Dignity in Every Community

For Farmer Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago, the people come first. Through the New Niger Agenda, real development is reaching our farms, our markets, our schools. our health sectors and our homes.

We are taking light to where Nigerlites live and work. Powering agricultural settlements so farmers can process, store and sell more. Supporting entrepreneurs and small businesses in our towns with reliable electricity to grow trade and create jobs. And brightening homes across our communities so families can live better and safer. When there is light, businesses thrive, food gets to market, and our towns come alive at night.

We are also setting the pace for the future. Niger State is the first sub-national government in Nigeria to establish a Green and Blue Economy Agency. We are inviting Nigerian companies and global partners to build solar and battery factories here at home. The land is ready. The will is ready. The New Niger is open for business.

This progress is driven through strong partnership with the Federal Government and the Rural Electrification Agency. Together we are deploying clean energy solutions directly to rural communities to support farming, boost productivity, and expand access to power beyond the national grid.

With Farmer Governor Bago, power is not just about poles and wires. It is about food on the table, income in the pocket, and dignity in every home.

"Together, we will Power the New Niger. Together, we will Light Up Every Life."— Farmer Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago
